"GLADIATOR" the Movie was the spark that ignited me to get back into the art business.
This is 100% colored pencils (Prisma-Color) hand-drawn on Illustration board. Used 2 underpaintings, first blue then red. Mixed with all white then added all other colors and more white. It was too late to correct body parts of proportions of various Gladiators fighting as well as work out more details in background. Wont have that problem in the digital world. All references used were stills from the movie itself. Composed and painted by hand. Completed in six months Dec 2001 - May 2002. Currently working on remastered digital version to be released soon.
